Creation Myth

I've always been fascinated by the various creations myths in the world. There's something so...awe inspiring about them. They deal with emotions that we don't even have names for and reflect back so much about ourselves.

I guess the most popular one would be genesis. Adam was in paradise, got lonely, God made Eve from a rib in Adam, she was tempted by the snake to defy God, and they both were thrown out of paradise.

What strikes me as beautiful about the Adam and Eve story in the loneliness. Not the loneliness that Adam feels, but the loneliness God must have felt. How long was he alone before he decided to create everything? How desperate for a companion...a friend, he must have been if he created the whole universe for one little man.

I believe for any creation myth to feel real, it must have that sense of loneliness. If it doesn't, why are we here?

Just my thoughts for the day,

Your friend,

McGonz
